Yesterday, major overseas mines announced a new round of futures prices for South African 40-42% chrome concentrates, rising by $27/mt to $230/mt. The spot price of chrome ore was further driven higher, and with ferrochrome retail supply already tight, prices followed the upward trend due to rising costs.
